1.    Read the dialogue on p.25 and give full answers to the comprehension questions in writing.
2.    Write a summary of the dialogue in 5 sentences.
3.    Do exercise 2 on p. 28 (до Talking Points): compare two destinations or resorts of your choice using antonyms (words with the opposite meaning, e.g. tasty - tasteless) and comparisons (more lively - less lively).
4.    Do exercise 1 on p. 27-28: translate the sentences into English.
5.    Read the text "Going on a Trip” and give the written answers to these questions: a) What was the wife supposed to be doing while the man was away to the agency? b) Why wasn’t the wife through with packing? c) Was it any use asking her to hurry up? d) How did John teach his wife a lesson? e) What made everyone angry in the compartment? f) Why did John "go on strike” when changing stations? g) What was the beauty of the situation?
6.    Do exercise 1 on p.32: supply the prepositions.
7.    Do exercise 3 on p.32: translate the sentences into Russian.
8.    Read Text 3 "Touring by Car in Britain”. A)Translate into Russian the sentences with the underlined words. B) Make up 3 comprehension check questions about the text. C) Make a digest of the text in 4 sentences – one for each paragraph. Do not rewrite the sentences of the text!
9.    Make up a tour diary of your own for a 5-7 day fly-drive holiday of your choice. Use the diary on p.37 as a model.
10.     Do exercise «Writing» on p. 38: translate the sentences into English.

1. Do exercise 6 on p. 43: fill in the blanks with prepositions.
2. Do exercise 7 on p. 43: get back to the text "The Accommodation Industry” and fill in the spaces with the proper words.
3. Do exercise 4 on p. 45: translate into English the sentences.
4. Look these synonyms up in a dictionary and explain the difference between the three words in each group (если трудно по-английски, объясните по-русски):
a) to house, to take in , to welcome;
b) to assist, to attend to, to pamper;
c) magnificent, splendid, deluxe;
d) amusement, entertainment, relaxation.
5. Render the text about the Hilton Hotel on p. 50 into English.
6. Do exercise 2 on p. 52: complete the dialogues with "will” or "be going to”.
7. Do exercise 6 on p. 52-53: translate into English sentences № 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.
8. Study some brochures and
a) make a short description of any 3 hotels providing information about their class, location, facilities, size and rates (as it is shown on p. 49);
b) Make comparisons of these three hotels using as many adjectives as you can (дальше от, ближе к, больше, меньше всего, наиболее комфортабельный, наименее известный, дороже чем, менее дорогой, тише, зашумленнее, разнообразнее, легче добраться, самый быстрый сервис, вкуснее, хуже, лучше, наиболее привычный, красивее, безопаснее).
9. Do exercise 4 on p. 57: fill in the blanks with prepositions.
10. Give synonyms (words with similar meaning) to these: "to display”, "to ensure”, "meeting room”.
11. Do exercise 4 on p. 61: translate into English sentences № 1, 3, 5, 7, 9,   11, 13, 15, 17, 19.
12. Do exercise 5 on p. 61 and write a letter of convocation for some convention using the given letter as an example.
13. Write a promotional text of 6-7 sentences about a resort or hotel as a venue for conventions. Start by making notes about any special things you’d like to mention. Get back to task 36 above.
14. Make up an itinerary for a 2-day post-congress tour.

and describe job requirements for each (training and qualification needed, special skills and experience).

4.    Make up and write down a menu for
